All teams should plan to be the audience for team in ring; providing typical distractions of an actual trial. Next dog in the ring should be warming up in kitchen. Trial atmosphere. Teams should have time for one complete run thru plus redo of exercises as needed. 15 minutes in the ring.
Sits & Downs will be held after Novice completes - see schedule.

CGC Prepartion Class Begins
CONTINUING EDUCATION IN BASIC OBEDIENCE - CGC PREPARATION
We are offering a six-week class focused on advanced basic obedience with the emphasis on establishing core responses and good manners.
This will include drills in heeling, addressing complex behavioral issues, focus and attention, and making your communication clearer and more effective.
The importance is in achieving a much richer level of understanding between you and your dog.
We will cover the skills required to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC). This will ensure that all participants are familiar with what is required to be a responsible dog owner and can work towards a goal of performing each component effectively. The CGC test is important for validating the dog’s obedience and social skills, proving they are mild mannered, whether at home or in a public setting. In addition, the CGC is a pre-requisite to becoming a therapy dog.
Please note that handlers and dogs may need to continue training until they are prepared to take the test. The cost of CGC evaluation is separate and not included in the class.
A separate date for the test will be determined when teams are fully prepared.
This class will be limited to only six handlers/dogs.
It will begin July 8 and end August 12 (every Wednesday from 9:45 – 10:30 a.m.).

New Class! Basic Obedience
CGC PREPARATION – BASIC OBEDIENCE - THERAPY DOG FOUNDATIONS
